We specialize in joint replacement surgery, and our excellent reputation for
surgical care begins with our committed orthopedic team. Our surgeons,
orthopedic nurses, operating room staff, physical and occupational therapists,
case managers and support staff all strive to provide you with the highest
quality of surgical care. With a goal of providing an experience that is
coordinated throughout your joint replacement surgery, we offer an educational
class to prepare you for what to expect before, during and after surgery. We
coordinate with the case management department to plan for your discharge needs
before you enter the hospital to ease your transition to home. We provide
pre-operative assessment and testing to make sure you are physically ready for
surgery and arrange for a consultation with a staff person from anesthesia to
discuss your anesthesia options for surgery. If you have special needs
identified in our pre-operative education or testing we have a clinical nurse
specialist in surgery and on the orthopedic unit to assist in ensuring you get
the care you need.

If you are thinking about joint replacement surgery and would like to attend one
of our free classes to learn more, you can call our Orthopedic Outcomes
Coordinator at (770) 991-8054 to register for a class. If you have already been
scheduled for joint replacement surgery at Southern Regional Medical Center a
nurse will be calling you to set up an appointment for one of our joint
education classes. If you need an orthopedic surgeon to evaluate your joint pain
please select the “Our Physician” tab at the top to learn about the excellent
