The Surgical Services Department is state-of-the-art and
designed to handle both minor and major procedures. This facility
includes seven inpatient suites, five outpatient suites, two cystoscopy rooms, and two minor procedure rooms. We also offer
mobile lithotripsy three times a week.
The outpatient surgery portion includes ENT, ophthalmology,
gynecology, urology, and general surgery. The outpatient area also
includes a
gastrointestinal laboratory. We are currently performing several
advanced laparoscopic procedures in the operating room to include
laparoscopic colectomies and laparoscopic cholecystectomies, just to
name a few.
The Surgical Services unit recently added the world renown da Vinci
Robot to its surgical portfolio. The da Vinci Surgical System is a
sophisticated robotic platform designed to enable complex surgery
using a minimally invasive approach. Powered by state-of-the-art
robotic technology, the da Vinci System is designed to scale, filter
and seamlessly translate the surgeon's hand movements into more
precise movements. For the patient, a da Vinci procedure can offer
all the potential benefits of a minimally invasive procedure,
including less pain, less blood loss and less need for blood
transfusions. Moreover, the da Vinci System can enable a shorter
hospital stay, a quicker recovery and faster return to normal daily
activities.
In addition to advanced services and equipment, we are also
concerned with the human aspect of healthcare. Children are
allowed to have a parent or guardian come with them to the
operating room until they are asleep. Also, caring, qualified
nurses watch over all patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit
until the patients are ready to be reunited with their family
members.
