 Families are encouraged and welcomed to stay together with
their newborn in our Mother / Baby Unit. Our knowledgeable
staff will help you begin the parenting experience while
caring for your baby at your bedside. A whimsical, carrousel
themed holding nursery is available for your newborn if you
prefer to rest or if the baby needs closer observation.
Our state-of-the -art Mother/ Baby Unit consist of 40 postpartum
rooms and a holding nursery. The unit is staffed with Registered
Nurses, Techs, and Secretaries to facilitate meeting all of your
needs during your hospital stay. the Women's Life Center is has
internationally accredited Lactation Consultants 7 days a week to
assist mothers with meeting their
breastfeeding goals. There is also a vital records clerk
available daily to help you with completing the necessary paperwork
for your baby's birth certificate.
Additionally, we have an independent photo company available to
take your baby's pictures and internet
video clips. We offer a daily Mother/ Baby care class to ensure that
you and your family feel confident providing care for your newborn,
as well as yourself. We understand that the needs of every woman,
baby, and family are unique, the staff at SRMC is committed and
strives to go above and beyond your expectations.
